 THE PROJECT

"Even though

I'm here...

my HEART

is still in Haiti"

Multimodal writing consists of writing with more than one mode.  Throughout the fall 2016 our multimodal writing class worked on several different projects, which we produced an audio autobiography and a video biography of a community refugee partner.  Each student in class designed and published a website using the WIX website editor.  All of our work was housed on our personal website.

Our final project consisted of a video biography of our community partner, Bernard Georges.  Bernard is a refugee that came from Haiti when he was a teenager.  Bernard’s uncle helped get him to America where he ended up living with his father for a short period of time.  Once Bernard was old enough, he started attending classes at CCRI.  After two years at CCRI, Bernard transferred to Roger Williams University, School of Justice Studies where he started studying criminal justice.  Bernard attained his Bachelors and then continued onto get his Masters in Public Administration.  View the rest of Bernard’s story by watching the video to the below.
